PROFILE:
A web developer with considerable knowledge and 6 years experience in developing web-based applications, back-end content management systems and working with database driven content. Skills include an extensive knowledge of PHP, ASP, Javascript, HTML and SQL as well as experience in working with JSP and Actionscript – the Flash scripting language. In addition to programming I have a limited experience in the field of graphic design and possess a working knowledge of Photoshop and Flash.

o Developed online website templates with database-free (XML) content management system.
o Restructuring and massive overhaul of the Ocra website which included the XHTML validation of all pages.
o Flash Actionscripting of golf course player tool. A Flash tool that allows users to create a strategy of play using a simulation of actual courses.

o Developed the back-end for the Shelllife website. A site designed to encourage an increase in customer support by offering various entertainment information as well as sms reminders used in conjunction with a loyalty card. My participation in the project included the following:
- Developed an extensive entertainment search tool.
- Developed a customisable events calendar.
- Assisted with the development of an sms reminder service.
- Ongoing maintenance and development of site after launch.

Achievements:
o As this was a junior position, I was fortunate enough to receive hands-on training under the supervision of highly experienced web application programmers.
o Developed back-end content management system for The South African Institute for Drug Free Sport website.
o Re-engineering of Drug Free Sport website code from ASP to JSP.
o KWIC. A hotel console concept which facilitated web and email browsing via hotel television sets using an infrared keyboard to access news and information presented through an updatable front-end. I was responsible for the development of the front and back-end functionality.
o Developed an extensive back-end content management system for the E-township website. This was a community-based project designed to encourage business and community project networking amongst township residents. My responsibilities included the complete design and implementation of an extensive content management system which included, updatable navigation and news content, a data capturing tool, a search tool, an events calendar and a web forum.
o Created an online Newsletter creator for the Cape Winemakers Guild.
o Assisted in the development of an e-commerce video rental website - Flieknet.
o Developed a web-based chat that enabled doctor/patient liasing for Cape Surgery website.
